3045 Highway 3, SS 1
Keith Holman, who runs the Holman Lang wine group, quips that this winery has the biggest sign in the industry. It is named after a nearby mountain which gets its name from a huge "K-shaped" debris slide on the slope visible from downtown Keremeos. The winery opened in the spring of 2008, taking over a highway-side property called Jerry's Fruit Stand. The organic fruit stand still operates, now with a wine shop attached to it. This is the first venture into the Similkameen Valley by Holman Lang. Wine made from grapes grown in Holman's other vineyards got the winery off to a quick start. Syrah and cabernet sauvignon have been planted at the K Mountain vineyard. Holman has also purchased another 65 hectares near Keremeos and Cawston, and intends to plant vines this year. The Holman Lang group is in the process of hiring a new winemaker.
